WHERE MEDICAL INNOVATIONS TAKE FLIGHT

World-class facilities empower preclinical success

To achieve truly revolutionary breakthroughs in the field of medical science, you need the right tools. At American Preclinical Services, we believe that philosophy extends not only to our state-of-the-art testing equipment, but also to our facilities as a whole. Our 130,000-square-foot campus gives APS one of the largest capacities in the world for medical device and drug research. By combining cutting-edge testing equipment, expert personnel, industry-leading processes and world-class testing facilities, we help clients achieve the preclinical success they need to bring new products to market.

Our facilities

Conveniently located in the heart of the Minneapolis-St. Paul medical device/biotech cluster, the APS campus is a hub of medical science innovation. APS’s 45,000-square-foot main facility is primarily dedicated to interventional and surgical research, but the campus also includes a variety of laboratories, procedure rooms, animal housing and office space. As part of our dedication to quality and regulatory compliance, all of our facilities are ISO 17025 accredited, AAALAC accredited, USDA licensed and GLP compliant.

Some of the highlights of our campus include:

  • 20,000-square-foot biocompatibility, toxicology, pharmacology, and pain research facility
  • 5,000-square-foot in-vitro laboratory
  • 5,000-square-foot histopathology and SEM laboratory
  • 4,000-square-foot analytical laboratory
  • Four SIEMENS Artis Zee digital cardiac Cath Lab suites
  • Two surgical operating suites
  • A dual-source computed tomography (CT) suite
  • On-site housing for over 700 large animals and thousands of small animals

These facilities allow us to provide a wide range of testing options to our clients. Our laboratories are also equipped to provide a full range of analytical services to facilitate integration and overlapping of various study components such as pharmacokinetic, toxicology, biocompatibility, quality control and stability studies. We offer multiple in-vitro methodologies and comprehensive in-vivo capabilities to give our clients the case studies they need to demonstrate product efficacy.

In addition to medical device testing, our facilities are also equipped to provide cutting-edge drug discovery research, including analysis of drug carriers, drug delivery systems and packaging materials. The comprehensive nature of our testing environments and facility space allow APS to accommodate short- or long-term studies of any size or scale.

What our facilities mean for you

As impressive as our facilities are, we realize all the square footage in the world doesn’t mean much if it doesn’t produce results for our clients. But this is why we think our physical space is such an asset to our mission. Because we are able to conduct so many different kinds of tests, compile the results and analyze the data all under one roof, we are able to more quickly identify potential issues and help clients find solutions. The versatility and comprehensive nature of our testing facilities mean we can be a one-stop shop for all your drug research and medical device preclinical testing needs.

To push the boundaries of medical science, you need world-class facilities. At APS, we’ve designed our facilities to not only meet that need, but to exceed expectations and be a leader in driving innovation now and into the future.
